Support & Share Night Program

Join us an evening of grief education and bereavement support at our upcoming Support and Share Night on Tues, Sept 4, 2018 (after the Labour Day long weekend).

Our Sept 4, 2018 speaker is Rita Myres.  She is speaking on Understanding Grief and its Complexities.

Rita is a Social Worker, Bereavement Counsellor, and a dedicated volunteer with Bereaved Families of Ontario-Ottawa Region. She has studied under grief educator, Alan Wolfelt.

Rita’s topic is suitable for both the new and ‘experienced’ griever. Through her presentation, Rita will give us a better understanding of the natural process of bereavement.

For 40 years, this monthly program has been supporting individuals and families on their journey of grief.  The night begins with an educational talk, followed by an opportunity to connect with others who are grieving a similar loss to yours in one of our 6 support groups.  Groups are facilitated by trained, understanding volunteers who have grieved and experienced a loss similar to yours.  You are not alone.  You can see our past speakers and their topics here.

The 6 bereavement groups are:
Loss of Spouse
Loss of Child
Loss of Perinatal (miscarriage, still birth, infant under 1 year)

Loss of
Parent/Sibling/Friend
Loss by Suicide
Loss by MAID
