CHANGE OF VENUE:
We have outgrown St Timonthy’s space and we have secured a larger venue with more rooms for our support groups. Our meeting location is now near the Vimy Memorial Bridge. SSN will now be held at 22 Barnstone Drive, Nepean, ON K2G 2P9, also known as Rivera Prince of Wales Manor. If the parking lot is full, there is plenty of parking on the residential side streets, as well as in the nearby shopping mall (a two block walk).
For 35 years, this monthly program has been supporting individuals and families on their journey of grief. The night begins with an educational talk, followed by an opportunity to connect with others who are grieving a similar loss to yours in one of our 8 support groups. Groups are led by trained facilitators who have grieved and experienced a loss similar to yours. You are not alone.
Our speaker for October is Micheline Lepage . The topic of her talk is: Living With The Hole in my Heart.
Micheline will share her personal story about the death of her son Bruce (BJ) and how she has and continues working her way through this grief and how her goals now are to give back and help those who are grieving the loss of a child.
Micheline Lepage has worked in the tech sector for most of her working career and recently retired from the Information Technology Association of Canada as an event planner for 25+ years. Micheline took the “Loss of Child” Focus Group in 2015 after the loss of her son and is now a volunteer with BFO and soon to be a Facilitator with BFO.
