Tuesday Support and Share Nights

On the first Tuesday of every month at 7 pm a guest speaker joins us by Webinar, followed by breakout groups by specific type of loss.

As of September 2020, French Support and Share Nights return at 7 pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Wednesday Weekly Support and Share Walks

Our weekly walks are on hold for now.

People come out simply to walk together along the trail behind the Parliament buildings.

The walk takes place every Wednesday, from 11:55 am to 1:15 pm. It starts from the foyer of the Bronson Centre, 211 Bronson Avenue.

Thursday Weekly Support and Share Afternoons

People who feel they could benefit from some virtual peer support over video conferencing will want in our weekly Support and Share Afternoons.

This group is open to all different types of losses, and   takes place every Thursday, from noon to 1:30 pm.

Closed Groups

Throughout the year we hold different grief support programs that each run over 8-10 consecutive weeks with the same group of participants.

Led by trained facilitators who have experienced a similar loss, participants explore different topics each week.

We plan to offer our closed groups in September by video conferencing.

Educational Workshops

We share our expertise with others in our community, about how to help and inspire others. We offer various educational workshops throughout the year.

People or organizations who would like to learn more about the topic of grief will be interested in contacting us for more details

Butterfly Memorial Event

Held each year in June, people from the Ottawa community gather at Beechwood, Canada's National Cemetery, to remember and honour their loved ones. They listen to live music and guest speakers, then release live butterflies in Beechwood's Botanical Gardens.

Tree of Life Memorial Event

Held each year at the beginning of December, people in Ottawa come together before the holidays begin, at a time when they often feel their grief more acutely.  They listen to guest speakers and live music, light a candle in memory of their loved ones, and hang a special ornament on BFO Ottawa's Tree of Life. This heartfelt event is held at Beechwood, Canada's National Cemetery, in their Sacred Space.

Art Therapy

Art Therapy can help people express their grief through active art creation. It supports emotional, creative and spiritual growth.
